Important changes from current constitution
3 national holidays. Kenyatta day to be called Mashujaa day.
National Language is Kiswahili.
No national religion - freedom of worship.
Women must occupy 33% of public offices.
New national value is to promote AFRICAN UNITY.
Every citizen has a right to national passport.
All citizens must pay TAX.
Recognizes culture as the foundation of the nation.
Recognize the role of science and indigenous technologies in the development of the nation.
Promote, where applicable, the use of traditional farming systems, and traditional foods and drinks; and
A Person is not defined in the constitution ABORTION AND EUTHANASIA issues?
Homosexuality and Bestiality implicitly unconstitutional but NOT explicitly stated.
Ethnic incitement and hate speech is unconstitutional
Every citizen has the right of access to—
(a) information held by the State; and
(b) any information that is held by another person and that is required for the exercise or protection of any right or fundamental freedom.
(2) Every person has the right to demand the correction or deletion of untrue or misleading information that affects that person.
Every citizen has the right to enter into, remain in and reside anywhere in Kenya.
Every person has the right to health, which includes the right to health care services, including reproductive health care. ABORTIONS?
No person may be refused emergency medical treatment.
Women and Men have same LAND RIGHTS inheritance et al
A State officer shall not (a) maintain a bank account outside Kenya except in accordance with an Act of Parliament.
